Therapy – Service Delivery Options
Individual – Centre Based ServiceThis involves a child working 1:1 with a clinician to address specific areas of identified need. parents/caregivers are required to observe and participate in the sessions so that they can utilise this learning to help their child at home. Interventions that can be provided by individual therapy include:
- Speech Pathology
- Occupational Therapy
- Child Psychology
- Child Psychology – Behaviour Management
- Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) – for children aged 3 and younger
- Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
Individual – Home and Community Based ServiceThis service is offered in the event that a child is not able to attend Irabina, or in cases where the family believes that therapy would be best provided in the child’s home, pre-school/kindergarten or primary school, setting. The interventions outlined above can be provided this way.
Trans-Disciplinary GroupsThis involves providing support to a child within a group setting with children of a similar age and level of functioning. Groups are staffed by a Special Education Teacher, an Education Assistant, and one of either an Occupational Therapist or a Speech Pathologist. Our Psychologists are available to provide advice and support where required.
